Hey guys,
So today was a VERY important day at the Senate....CORN DOG DAY! I did not understand the hype around this day but after having my own I totally understand lol. One of the many perks of this internship is that various lobbyist hold luncheons on the Capitol lawn every Wednesdays and more times than not we are invited for free food. Today was Optometrist day and they held the luncheon which is notorious at the Capitol and I have to admit it was arguably one of the best corn dogs and cups of lemonade that I have ever had.

Wow, that looks like an amazing treat! Definitely a perk to your internship. =) Where in the world can you get that? I definitely believe in food perks, I mean who doesn't love a good (and different) meal, right?
ReplyDeleteI have always thought that food is the best way to get to know someone. It makes things less intense and I can imagine that senate meetings can get rather heated at times. It does look like a great corn dog!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like one delicious corn dog! Also...chocolate covered fruit??
ReplyDeleteI get excited when there are old cookies in the break room : /
Yum!! I've been a part of three lobbyist days (more, but between working for two lobbyists, I have actively been involved in three) and the food is one of the best parts! Two were smaller groups and we had a private lunch of sorts, but the other group, AFL-CIO had hundreds in attendance and the Plumbers and Pipefitters made cheeseburgers for everyone! It had been a long time since I had a cheeseburger made on the grill. I always eat way too much those days.
ReplyDeleteWell that looks like one good lunch! I started working in a restaurant recently and never realized how amazing it is to constantly have delicious food around you available.
ReplyDeleteAt my internship it is exciting when we get some Mexican food from this little store down the road, even though it is delicious.
